The Santana 37 Hull Roster is running a list of information that I have been able to pull together about the 20 other Santana 37s. As I discover little bits of history I will add it here. If you have any information to add or share, please leave a comment or reach out directly.
Also, if you find something here that is inaccurate please let me know so that I can get it corrected.
Starting Point and Original Data
The information that I used to start the list below comes from a print titled “Santana 37 and 39 Owners Information Network Database“. This document was provided to me by Mike Currie, the prior owner of Destiny II.
The document was printed on Nov 21, 1998. Since the document is 20 years old I am assuming that most of the owner contact information is no longer valid. As a result, I have omitted the owner contact information for privacy and kept only boat names and locations below.
If you are involved in a research project of your own and want to see a copy or dig deeper just reach out to me.
According to wikipedia, there were 21 Santana 37s manufactured between 1969 and 1972. One interesting thing to note is the reference document that I used to produce this list also has data for a hull number 24. Not sure if the count is correct on wikipedia or the twenty year old owners list. Right now I have hull #24 flagged for verification and hopefully other owners will find this page and provide more information.
In addition to hull number 24, the document also had some other Santana 37 names that could not be linked to hull numbers.
For now, I’m calling this “Orphan Data”. As more information comes to light I will update the table below.
The Santana 37 Hull Roster Orphans are listed here:
- Hetaira (Listed in the source document as Hull #24 – need to confirm, prior name may have been “Valentino”, Home port of Long Beach, has a racing history)
- Amateur Hour (Known to be with Vallejo Yacht club at one time)
- Meltemi (Last Known Location is Hawaii)
- Satin Doll (Satin Doll won a Vic Maui race)
